Monsters

There are no monsters in this world,

Or so that is what we have been taught,

But what about the ones that tell us it will all be ok,

The ones that make stupid mistakes,

The ones we harm to take out are pain,

The ones that will push you in front of a train,

The ones that shoot on the street,

The ones responsible for children having nothing to eat.

The ones that abuse in their own homes,

The ones that don’t let you make it home,

You see there are monsters in this world,

They are the ones responsible for these actions,

They are the ones that make bad things happen.

You see monsters are not slimy creatures with big red eyes,

But instead, human beings with feelings inside,

We are surrounded by monsters if only we could see,

But we cannot,

Because they look like you and me.
